Abstract:

The research project was done for the Funza town in Cundinamarca ? Colombia, in order to get the prediction of the subsidence process in the study area. Subsidence refers to the vertical movement of the ground which can be slow or abrupt. Some points of the land network MAGNA ? ECO which was materialized by the Geographic Institute Agustín Codazzi ? IGAC and three images of Synthetic Aperture Radar ? SAR used in the application of the technique differential interferometry, were used as complementary information for developing of the project.

The interferometric process gives results about the tendency of the deformation. In this sense, the residuals was gotten to do the estimation of the phenomenon after that Universal Kriging was applied identifying the tendency of the data. However, this interpolator gives good results when there is a bigger sample, in this study case the GPS observations was limited to five points, for this reason it was necessary to include a priori information combined with the sample in the model, through Bayesian Theorem.

Given this, the application of the Bayesian Prediction gives a better fit in comparison with the estimate which was gone with Universal Kriging. This prediction allowed making a deformation map of the land surface for the Funza town in Cundinamarca ? Colombia, from which the rate of subsidence is inferred.
