Abstract:

Skewness is often present in a wide range of geostatistical problems, and modeling it in the spatial context remains a challenging problem. In this article, we consider the closed skew-Gaussian distribution, which is a generalization of the traditional Gaussian distribution. Fitting closed skew-Gaussian distributions are an inference challenge in various cases. We study this inference problem in an high-dimensional setting. The closed-skew Gaussian prediction approach has been applied on real seismic data from the Sleipner field in the North Sea.
